Will these coils be compatible or do I need longer shocks?
- A old coils come out new "heavy duty" 2891 coils go in. longer shocks not needed or control arms. just replace some bushings while you have the time and stuff is apart.1999 Toyota 4runner with Aftermarket rear bumper and swing out spare rack. Installed 2890 springs but it only gave me an inch of lift. I don't know the weight of the rear bumper, rack and spare tire but I'd guess it all to add up to about 375 to 425lbs. I do have a second gas tank in the spare tire slot which would add another 150lbs or so but I wouldn't be at the 660lbs of constant weight that is referenced for the 2891 springs. The 2890 springs only give me about and 1.5 inch of lift with the current constant load at whatever it is. Does it sound like the 2891 would give me the remaining 1.5 inches without being too stiff given the roughly 400-525 lbs of constant weight?
