- QDo you need new rear coil springs to achieve the advertised lift? If so what do you recommend?answer nowA If you want to get 1.5 inches on Rear, then you need new longer springs These shocks will not lift your truck by themselves - some lift kit options as add-a-leafs or longer coils or maybe spacers will be required for a lift. These shocks are only longer than the stock shocks - designed for use with the existing lift. I have been considering a slight lift, but most importantly I am wanting to enhance my vehicles on and off road performance without compromising the kdss performance in the process. Currently I notice quite a lot of
"bucking" when going over bumps in the rear of the vehicle. I have researched icon stage 2 systems and like the idea of the vehicle to be able to go over rough terrain at a reasonable high rate of speed, but I have also gathered that I'm normal everyday driving the ride is rough on the road. My goal is to be able to have a smoother ride on the road yet have a suspension that will allow me to take the 4runner to the sand dunes and be able to get around without worrying with bottoming out. I do lot more trail and overland style driving rather than ripping around sand dunes, but it'd be nice to have a suspension that would be an all around one so if you have any suggestions such as the fox set up in would greatly appreciate your input. Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing back from you. Also, I have stock coils and springs with 265 good year duratracs running at 34psi.
